Get a unique look into Pig Iron’s performance research during early development of SUPERTERRANEAN, a design-driven performance based on the fascinations of company member and MacArthur Fellow Mimi Lien. Lien and Pig Iron Co-Artistic Director Dan Rothenberg will lead an encounter with thinkers and experts from diverse fields as Pig Iron begins investigating human behavior amid the Industrial Sublime.
The panel will include Kartik Chandran (environmental engineer, wastewater treatment), Steve Duncan (urban explorer), Stanley Greenberg (photographer), and Nicole Melendez (structural engineer, bridge designer). Each panelist will present short provocations that speak to the emotions that arise in response to large industrial spaces. The conversation that follows will serve as research for Pig Iron’s team of actor-creators and designers.
